Meet The Team

Chris Cousins
PGA Head Professional

I started my golfing career at Worsley GC (Manchester) where my father Ceri was PGA Professional. I played my junior golf at Worsley and was selected to represent my county (Lancashire) as a junior. I turned Professional at 18 and embarked my PGA training; I became a fully qualified PGA Professional in 2008 and become one of the youngest Head PGA Professionals in the country, my first post being at Bentham Golf Club (North Yorkshire). In 2012 I made the move to Helsby Golf Club (Cheshire) where I remained Head PGA Professional until September 2020, where I joined the team at Beau Desert Golf Club (Staffordshire). My aim is to develop a Professional Services Team that deliver a first-class golfing experience to all members, guests and visitors to Beau Desert Golf Club. I come from a family of Golf Professionals, my 2 brothers, Alyn (Ulverston GC) and James (Darlington GC) are both Head PGA Professionals. I currently live in Hednesford with my wife Gemma and our 3 boys, Dylan, Samuel & Alex.

Anthony Dempsey
PGA Professional

I first started playing golf at age 13 where I attended some junior classes and immediately fell in love with the game, at age 15 I joined Bromborough GC and was given a handicap of 6. At 16 I moved away to Preston for two years to attend Myerscough College and complete my National Diploma in Golf Studies. Once I had completed my Diploma I decided to see how good I could be so alongside work I played and practiced as much as I could, however it became clear that unfortunately I wasn’t going to be good enough to make it as a playing professional, but I still wanted a career in golf, by chance I was approached by Chris Cousins in 2013 with regards to becoming the Assistant Professional at Helsby Golf Club (Cheshire), I accepted and began my PGA Training which I completed in 2017. I remained the Assistant Professional until September 2020 when Chris offered me the opportunity to work at Beau Desert GC. The decision to move was an easy one, the quality of the course and facilities is of a very high standard and the chance to be part of the team tasked with improving the professional services is very exciting to me.

Luke Aston
PGA Assistant Professional

I started playing golf with my grandad at the age of 11 at the Chase Golf Club and quickly developed a passion for the game. After a short period of time I moved to Beau Desert. It was at Beau where I developed my game, getting down to scratch by the time I was 19 years old. I also represented my Staffordshire at both junior and men’s level. In 2015 I moved to California with the aim of playing competitive golf at college level, during the first year my team won the CCCA State Championship. After two great years in America, I came back to the UK and in 2017 I decided that I wanted to make a career out of teaching golf and began training as an Assistant professional at Beau Desert Golf Club where I worked for over two years. Having worked hard completing my degree in Professional Golf Studies through the University of Birmingham. I am now putting the finishing touches to my PGA training to become a full member of the PGA. I’m so excited to start this new chapter at Beau. I’m also looking forward to working alongside Chris and Ant and help to make Beau’s professional services the best around.
