Professional Services Team
The Professional Services Team have recently been given support from the Board of Management to re-organise the way in which their services are provided. A notice summarising the progress to date is shown below...
Re-organisation of Professional Services
Good early progress has been sustained and we would like to thank members for their support and co-operation, which has enabled alterations to proceed with minimal inconvenience. Many have commented very positively on the transformation of the shop and work is now in progress to complete the refurbishment of toilets and floor covering. In response to initial feedback, we thought it would be helpful to clarify the following points:
- Linda Taylor, as part of the Professional Services Team (PST), has invested very substantially to meet the majority of costs incurred. In response to this significant commitment and because of health and safety regulations, the Board of Management (BOM) has authorised funding for new toilets and suitable floor covering. We feel sure members will support this reciprocal action in the spirit of working together.
- Whilst the revised roles and responsibilities of team members have already been outlined to members, it should be emphasised that Barrie Stevens’ role as the Club’s lead golfing professional remains unchanged. However, new contractual arrangements for both colleagues mean that a proportion of his retainer is now paid to Linda Taylor via the BoM, to reflect her lead responsibility for retail services and his reduced involvement in this area. Transitionally, all credits will be honoured whilst it would be helpful if all debts could be cleared ASAP.
- In practice, there will be considerable overlap of roles across the team with Richard Clarson actively supporting both colleagues. Collectively, their prime objective will be to provide best possible service for golfers and the BoM is committed to managing these arrangements through a process of regular review and evaluation, incorporating feedback from members and visitors.
Finally, we would like to thank Paul Boot (& Co) for his professional expertise and committed support for the PST’s development of their retail environment.
